Change can be difficult, which is why most people wait until they are forced into it.

Hi, I’m Liz. I’ve worked as a counsellor for over 10 years, helping clients work through various issues, such as anxiety, depression, work related stress and coercive and controlling relationships.   These are the areas of my work, which I am most passionate about helping people work through the emotions attached to situations that can make our lives a daily struggle.   I am not limited to working within these areas as my skills and knowledge allow me to apply my way of working to other issues such as anger, trauma, low self esteem, burnout, to name but a few.


Life is an emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes it’s fun and you’re enjoying the ride.  The next minute the wheels fall off and you’re terrified because you don’t know what’s going to happen next!  Doing the same thing day in, day out won’t bring different results.  All is does is waste energy and eventually leads to burnout.


I can help you change patterns and behaviours so that you create a new way of working or being that is aligned with who you are now. Imagine a jigsaw puzzle.  You can see what the picture looks like and you have all the pieces, then something happens (life) and the next time you check a piece has been added but you don’t know how it’s going to fit in. You know it has to fit in somewhere but you no longer know what the picture looks like anymore (uncertainty).  Then something else happens, another piece gets added and so on until you feel overwhelmed.  This causes anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation, overthinking, low self esteem, lack of confidence, feeling lost or lonely to the point where you start to isolate yourself because you don’t even have the energy to hold conversations any more.  The thought of socialising is draining, everything is an effort, even just getting in the shower.  The simplest of things take too much effort.  That can then lead to more worrying?  This drains more energy.  Can you see the pattern?  It’s time to change the cycle so you feel good again. 


So how can I help you.   I will help you figure out patterns and behaviours and step by step help you figure out  how you react and behave to things, bringing this into your awareness. This doesn’t mean you’ll need therapy for the rest of your life.  You will start to feel better after the first session because you will have made the first step to change. When you start to understand why you react in a certain way you can start to change the cycle and transition into being who you want to be, which means you will make different decisions and choices, thus creating change.

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a place where you can be honest with yourself and say things that maybe you wouldn’t say to family or friends for fear of being judged or in case you hurt their feelings. 


It’s a place where you can feel supported whilst you work through difficult or painful issues you may feel are too scary to face all by yourself or aren’t ready to share with family or close friends.


It can help you when you feel stuck or indecisive to open up ideas and feel confident making changes that will lead to new dreams or goals that maybe didn’t seem possible before.
